Korimako Lodge – our rooms

Korimako Lodge offers guests superb accommodation in a maximum of three rooms. Crisp pure cotton bed linen and soft, warm duvets and pillows feature on the beds. Each of the lodge’s three guest rooms has its own private verandah, a perfect spot to take full advantage of the beautiful forest views and the sound of the river and the birds in the background. Each morning at daybreak, the birdsong is really stunning. Each of our rooms is named for a forest bird that can be seen regularly around the Lodge, which is itself named for the Korimako – the Bellbird which has a particularly glorious song.

All rooms face north, each with doors opening onto a private verandah to enable guests to enjoy the sunny outdoors, listen to the birdsong and watch the birds. Our native plantings and pest control program means that each year we see more and more birds around the lodge.

All our rooms have large ensuite bathrooms with generous towels, pure cotton bathrobes, hairdryers, natural toiletries with essential oils, heated towel rails and demisting mirrors. All rooms also a table and comfortable chairs on the verandah.

A refrigerator stocked with complimentary soft drinks, organic juices and beers, and tea and coffee facilities are available in the communal guest area adjacent to each room – with real milk, fresh ground  coffee and plungers plus a good selection of teas.  Ironing and laundry facilities are also available nearby. Telephone and broadband internet facilities along with free wi-fi in all rooms are available to our guests. Our tariff is per room and includes accommodation, full breakfast, delicious dinner and New Zealand taxes.

Adjacent to our guest rooms is the bathhouse, a double spa bath with wide sweeping windows that open into the forest. A perfect spot for a glass of wine!

Tui SuperKing/Twin Room

This room is named for the Tui, also known as the Parson bird for the distinctive white tufts under its throat that resemble a priest’s dog collar.  The deep smoky blue feature wall and choice of furniture complement the fabulous views from this room and its private verandah. It has one bed (Twin or Super King) which can be configured as twin beds on request and can sleep a total of two guests. It has an ensuite bathroom with a spacious shower.

Kaka Queen Room

This room is named for the Kaka, a large parrot often seen and heard flying over Korimako Lodge to roost in the forest across the valley.

This is our larger Queen room with a warm chocolate brown feature wall, beech framed Queen bed, elegant bed linen, private verandah with stunning views of the beech forest. It can sleep a total of two guests, and has an ensuite bathroom with a spacious shower.

Kea Queen Room

This room is named for the Kea, another large parrot often seen and heard flying over Korimako Lodge to roost in the trees in front of the lodge. A very beautiful but mischievous bird, they take a lot of interest in our vegetable garden!

This is our smaller Queen room with a dark green feature wall, antique pine frame Queen bed, elegant bed linen, private verandah with stunning views of the beech forest, and has an ensuite bathroom with a spacious shower.
